I have diligently worked on getting my gear and tools ready and “armed” to participate – unless potentially conflicting priorities might get in the way too hard and in ways that would need me to take a pass this year, i.e. pertaining to the rescoring bit. But there’s always the associated fundraiser and option to simply donate, should I indeed find myself prevented from trying to contribute a rescore for time and other constraints. And you’re free to help reach their fundraising goal as well, musician, composer or not. All you “need” is have a heart 🙂 (You do have a heart, right? 🙂 ) I personally really appreciate the fact that the competition is run to benefit important projects like these, social, humanitarian, whatever you may call it. It’s an additional incentive where I’m concerned, next to learning, getting experience and trying to accept the challenge and being part of something bigger and significant. The prizes are a nice bonus and welcome, too, but nowhere near the main aspect about this for me. The “soft goals” are. 😉
